9-5-1: UNDERGROUND UTILITY LINES REQUIRED:
All utility lines, except electric lines of nominal voltage in excess of fifteen thousand (15,000) volts, shall be installed underground unless such lines can be installed and service be provided using only existing utility poles. Such utility lines required to be installed underground shall be installed in such a manner so as not to interfere with other underground utilities. Incidental appurtenances to such underground utility lines, such as pad mounted electrical equipment and its enclosures, pedestal mounted terminal boxes, meters, and meter cabinets may be placed aboveground but shall be located so as not to be unsightly or hazardous to the public.
