For purposes of this chapter the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
AUTHORIZED DEPARTMENT. The department designated by the City Manager to administer the provisions of this chapter.
GARAGE SALE. All general sales, open or advertised to the public, conducted from or on a residential premises or a self-storage (mini warehouse facility), in any zoning use district, for the purpose of disposing of tangible personal property. The term includes, but is not limited to, all sales entitled “garage,” “lawn,” “yard,” “room,” “estate,” “auction,” “moving,” “backyard,” “patio,” “rummage” and “neighborhood.” For purposes of this chapter, a private invitation-only event for the sale of tangible personal property within a residence is not a garage sale but may constitute a home-based business as regulated by §§ 155.3 and 155.7.
INDIVIDUAL LOCATION. A property with an approved residence or a self-storage (mini warehouse facility) with a unique physical address recognized by the city. For the purposes of this chapter, an individual location shall be real property, have a distinct Central Appraisal District account number and may be a single-family dwelling, a multi-family dwelling with three or fewer dwelling units on the property, or a self-storage facility. Each of the terms referenced herein shall have the same meanings as defined in Ch. 155.
PERSON. Includes an individual, sole proprietorship, corporation, association, nonprofit corporation, partnership, joint venture, limited liability company, estate, trust, public or private organization.
