(a) Any property which comes into the possession of the Police Department that is unclaimed for ninety days or more which is not required to be disposed of pursuant to any section of the Revised Code may be contributed to one or more public agencies, to one or more non-profit organizations no part of the net income of which inures to the benefit of any private shareholder or individual and no substantial part of the activities of which consist of carrying on propaganda or otherwise attempting to influence legislation, or to one or more organizations satisfying Section 501(c)(3) or (c)19 of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986.
(b) It shall be within the discretion of the Chief of Police to determine what property is to be donated and to what agency or organization said donation shall be made.
