If signs are provided at entrances to stations identifying the station or the entrance, or both, at least one sign at each entrance shall be tactile and shall comply with the requirement of ICC/ANSI A117.1 for visual and tactile characters. Such signs shall be placed in uniform locations at entrances within the transit system to the maximum extent practicable.
Exception: If the station has no defined entrance but signs are provided, the tactile signs shall be placed in a central location.
