If a building or facility or portion thereof is required to be accessible, at least one accessible route shall connect all accessible entrances of the building or facility with all portions of the building or facility that are required to be accessible. An accessible route shall be provided to connect accessible pedestrian walkways with the public way. An accessible route shall directly connect both sides of the court in court sports. If only one accessible route is provided, the accessible route shall not pass through kitchens, storage rooms, restrooms, closets, sleeping room or similar spaces.
Exception: Within a dwelling unit, a single accessible route may pass through a kitchen or storage room.
