927.75 ABANDONMENT OF SERVICE; VOLUNTARY TEMPORARY DISCONNECTION.
   (a)   At any time a water service user connection is to be abandon, the connection shall be excavated at the point of tap-in; the service lateral shall be disconnected at the tap valve or corporation stop in a manner approved by the Municipal inspector; and the tap connection shall be tightly and permanently capped. If the water main is deteriorate at the point of connection with the service lateral, then the water main pipe shall be replace with a new section of main pipe. Inspection of any work shall be required under the provisions of Section 927.93 (Construction Inspection and Testing) prior to backfilling the excavation.
 
   (b)   Voluntary temporary disconnection. Any water service user may request the municipality to temporarily shut off water service. All temporary shutoff shall be at the curb box, which shall shut off all water to the structure, both the primary and secondary water lines. The secondary water line shall not be separately shut off independently from the primary water line. Resumption of water service requires payment of the turn-on charge set forth in § 921.168 .
