(A) Every person operating a motor vehicle on the streets of this city shall drive the same in a careful manner and at a rate of speed so as to not endanger the property of another or the life or limb of any person, and no person shall operate a motor vehicle on the streets of this city at a greater speed than twenty five (25) miles per hour, save and except as hereinafter specifically set forth. (B) No person shall operate a motor vehicle on Main Street in the city in excess of the following speeds, at the places hereinafter designated on said Main Street:
1. Forty five (45) miles per hour from a point four-tenths (0.4) of a mile north of the north end of the south bridge over the Payette River to Cabarton Road;
2. Thirty five (35) miles per hour from Cabarton to Payette Street;
3. Twenty five (25) miles per hour from Payette Street to Spring Street;
4. Thirty five (35) miles per hour from Spring Street to a point two hundred (200) yards north of Dam Street;
5. Forty five (45) miles per hour from the point two hundred (200) yards north of Dam Street to a point eight hundred seventy six feet (876') north of the north end of the north bridge over the Payette River. (Ord. 367, 4-13-1981)
(C) Any person convicted of a violation of any provision of this section shall be fined in a sum not to exceed one hundred dollars ($100.00) for any one offense, and such person may be confined in the county jail for a period of not more than thirty (30) days.
