6-2-3: FIRE CHIEF; DUTIES:
The Chief of the Fire Department shall preside at all the meetings of the members of the Department and, when on duty at a fire, shall have full and absolute direction, management and control of all members of said Department, all voluntary helpers at such fire and of all fire-fighting property, apparatus and machinery owned or used by the City 1 .
In case of the absence or inability of the Chief of the Fire Department to perform any of his duties, the Assistant Chief, if any, shall act as Chief with equal power and authority.
