1303.05 BRICK FACING.
   (a)   No commercial building shall be constructed unless all exterior walls visible from the street are completely faced with either brick conforming to ASTM standard (C-21 (solid brick) or C-652 (hollow brick) or C-1088 (thin brick), natural stone, architectural concrete masonry units (CMU), approved concrete panels or an approved masonry, the color and design approved of by the Planning Commission.
   (b)   The use of standard, concrete masonry units (CMU), sometimes referred to as cinder block or cement block, visible from the street as exterior construction material in any building within the City, is hereby prohibited.
   (c)   An addition to an existing building not conforming to divisions (a) or (b) of this section may be constructed of the same nonconforming materials as the main building if the Planning Commission determines that the addition would be more consistent with the objectives of the Zoning Code if it is constructed of nonconforming materials than it would be if it is constructed of conforming materials.
