9-2-10: BOARD UP PROVISIONS:
   A.   No person or entity owning, renting, possessing or controlling any building in the village shall permit the windows or doors of a building to be covered with boards, planks of wood, iron grates or bars, except as hereinafter specifically provided.
   B.   For occupied buildings, use of boards or planks of wood to cover missing or broken windows or doors shall be permitted in buildings when such windows or doors have been broken or damaged, but such boarding up is only permitted for a reasonable time to allow for repairs, not to exceed a period of two (2) months. Where windows or doors are not missing or broken, only wire mesh may be used to cover the windows or doors, and only for a period of sixty (60) days or less.
   C.   For vacant buildings, use of boards, planks of wood, or wire mesh shall be permitted for a period not to exceed six (6) months to allow for repair, remodeling or new occupancy.
   D.   Violations of this section are declared to be a public nuisance and may be abated or enjoined by action of the village. (Ord. 2003-08, 11-17-2003)
