8-4-3-2: SHUTOFF BOXES AND VALVE BASINS:
   A.   Shutoff Boxes: Shutoff or service boxes shall be placed on every service pipe and shall be located between the curb line and the sidewalk line where this is practicable. Such boxes shall be located so that they are easily accessible and shall be protected from frost.
   B.   Valve Basins: All new water service connections with shutoff valves of three inches (3") and over must be put in sixty inch (60") precast concrete valve basins. All existing water services with valves three inches (3") or over that are in a six inch (6") cast iron valve box shall be converted to a sixty inch (60") precast concrete valve basin. This subsection will be enforced when there is a new building, change of ownership, change of occupancy or major remodeling. (1987 Code; amd. Ord. 2019-27, 11-18-2019)
