8-2-3: APPROACHES, DRIVEWAYS AND PARKING AREAS:
   A.   Permit Required, Fee: No person shall construct an approach, driveway, parking space or parking lot without first obtaining a permit therefor and paying a fee therefor to the Building Department.
   B.   Construction Standards:
      1.   All approaches, driveways, parking spaces and parking lots shall be constructed in accordance with the specifications provided by the Public Works Director or his assignee and maintained on file in the office of the building department and shall also conform to the following general conditions:
         a.   Surface shall be concrete, blacktop or equivalent impervious material as approved by the Village.
         b.   Driveway approaches shall have a minimum width of ten feet (10') flared to fourteen feet (14') at the curb.
         c.   On single-family zoned property only, one driveway shall be constructed and this driveway shall not exceed twenty four feet (24') in width.
         d.   On single-family zoned property, the driveway shall extend to the garage apron or to the rear of the house if there is no garage and no alley.
      2.   Driveways that cross a public sidewalk shall conform to the sidewalk grade. That part of a public sidewalk which is also part of a driveway shall be constructed of concrete with a thickness of not less than six inches (6") and a troweled and brushed surface.
      3.   It shall be unlawful to cover up any public sidewalk with asphalt or any other material without first receiving permission from the Director of Public Works and Water or his authorized representative. (1987 Code; amd. Ord. CO-2023-15, 5-15-2023)
