5-1-6: POWERS AND DUTIES OF MEMBERS:
   A.   Fire Prevention Duties: It shall be the function and duty of the Fire Department and every member thereof to extinguish accidental or destructive fires and to prevent the occurrence or spread of such fires.
   B.   Police Powers: All regularly appointed members of the department are hereby given the necessary special police powers for the purpose of enforcing the provisions of this title. (1987 Code)
