22-3.01   Authority to Order Installation of Traffic Devices; Duty to Install, Maintain. *
   a.   The Director of Public Works or his designee shall order the installation of official traffic control devices, including crosswalks, when and as required under the traffic ordinances of the City to make effective the provisions of said ordinances, and may order the installation of such additional official traffic control devices as he may deem necessary to regulate, warn or guide traffic under the traffic ordinances of the City or the State Vehicle Code or the laws of the State.
   b.   The Operations Division of the Department of Public Works shall install and maintain all traffic control devices and markings, and the replacements and revisions of traffic control devices subsequent to the adoption of the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices shall conform to the manual.
