a. It shall be unlawful for any transient business, transient professional service, peddler or transient contractor or representative thereof to engage in any activity in the City without the representatives thereof having first applied for and obtained a permit to do so as provided herein and having otherwise complied with the terms and provisions of this Subchapter.
b. A representative of a transient business, transient professional service, peddler or transient contractor desiring to engage in business within the City shall first make application in writing to the City’s Office of Occupational License on forms provided by the City before the applicant shall commence any activity or conduct any business. Such application shall state the name, permanent address and telephone number of the business, entity type and federal identification number of the business. In addition, the City may request information about the type or nature of the goods or services to be provided as well as details about other persons working in the City associated with the business, such as the name, address, telephone number, social security number and other personal data.
c. The Office of Occupational License, upon receipt of a completed application and payment of the permit fee, shall issue a permit to the representative of the business. The permittee shall have this permit in his immediate possession at all times when engaging in business in the City and shall display it upon demand to an official of the City.
d. Transient businesses or peddlers who are not conducting business door-to-door shall be issued a permit sign setting forth the business name, issue date and expiration date of the permit. This permit sign shall be prominently displayed in an area open to public view.
