The City Manager or his designee is authorized to accept donations and gifts in the form of personal property on behalf of the City with a value of five thousand ($5,000) dollars or less. Any donation of real property of any value or of personal property with a value greater than five thousand ($5,000) dollars shall be accepted by the City pursuant to a municipal order approved by the Board of Commissioners. The City Manager shall periodically notify the Board of Commissioners of donations and gifts with a value of five thousand ($5,000) dollars or less and shall note the specific purpose, if any, for the donation or gift. Any boards, commissions or agencies created by the City of Bowling Green that are the recipient of donations or gifts may accept such donations or gifts without Board of Commissioners or City Manager approval, but such donations and gifts shall periodically be reported to the Board of Commissioners, noting the specific purpose, if any, for the donation or gift.
