3.01 Division Into Wards

3.01 DIVISION INTO WARDS.
   The City is divided into five (5) wards described as follows:
(Code of Iowa, Sec. 372.4 and 372.13[7])
   1.   First Ward. The area bounded by the following description, proceeding generally in a counter-clockwise direction:
   Beginning at the intersection of Marshall Street and 15th Street, thence West to Story Street, thence South to 5th Street, thence East to Delaware Street, thence South to Mamie Eisenhower Avenue, thence East following Mamie Eisenhower Avenue to Quartz Avenue, thence North reaching corporate limits, thence West following corporate limits to a point on the North line of 7th Street to a point that the corporate limits head North, thence North, East, South Easterly and then North following corporate limits to Industrial Park Road, thence West and North following corporate limits to a point on the South line of the Boone and Scenic Valley Railroad right-of-way, thence East to Quartz Avenue, thence North, West and South following corporate limits to a point on the North line of the Boone and Scenic Valley Railroad right-of-way, thence West, North and back West to Curtis Street, thence North to the Northern boundary of corporate limits which is also 22nd Street, thence West to Marshall Street, thence South to the Point of Beginning.  
   2.   Second Ward. The area bounded by the following description, proceeding generally in a counter-clockwise direction:
   Beginning at the intersection of 5th Street and Cedar Street, thence South to Union Street, thence West to S. Marshall Street, thence South to Hawkeye Drive, thence West to S. Story Street, thence South to the Southern boundary of corporate limits which is also 223rd Place, thence East to a point that corporate limits turn South, thence following corporate limits South, East, South, Northeasterly, East and then North to a point that corporate limits then head East for a distance reaching the Southeast corner of corporate limits, thence North for a distance until the corporate limits head East, South, East, North, West, North, and West which is all following corporate limits, thence North 210th Street, thence Westerly following 210th Street which turns into Mamie Eisenhower Avenue to Delaware Street, thence North to 5th Street, thence West to the Point of Beginning.
   3.   Third Ward. The area bounded by the following description, proceeding generally in a counter-clockwise direction:
   Beginning at the intersection of Union Street and S. Marshall Street, thence East to S. Cedar Street, thence North to 5th Street, thence West to Harrison Street, thence North to 6th Street, thence West to Milwaukee Street, thence South to Mamie Eisenhower Avenue, thence West to S. Division Street, thence South to W. Park Avenue, thence East to Southridge Drive, thence Southerly following the corporate limits to a point that the corporate limits head East, thence East, South and West following corporate limits to a point that they head South to the Southern boundary of corporate limits, thence East to S. Story Street, thence North to Hawkeye Drive, thence East to S. Marshall Street, thence North to the Point of Beginning.
   4.   Fourth Ward. The area bounded by the following description, proceeding generally in a counter-clockwise direction:
   Beginning at the intersection of 5th Street and Story Street, thence North to 15th Street, thence East to Marshall Street, thence North to 22nd Street, thence West to Division Street, thence South to a point that the corporate limits head West, thence back South and East to Division Street, thence South to W. 18th Street, thence West following corporate limits to a point that they head back South, East and then South and East again reaching Division Street, thence South to the North line of 16th Street, thence West and meandering around the established corporate limits until reaching a point on the centerline of W. 15th Street, thence West to the West line of the Boone and Scenic Valley Railroad right-of-way, thence Southeasterly to Marion Street, thence South to West 12th Street, thence West to State Street, thence South to West 10th Street, thence East to Division Street, thence South to West 8th Street, thence East to Harrison Street, thence South to 5th Street, thence East to the Point of Beginning.  
   5.   Fifth Ward. The area bounded by the following description, proceeding generally in a counter-clockwise direction:
   Beginning at the intersection of 8th Street and Harrison Street, thence West to Division Street, thence North to W. 10th Street, thence West to State Street, thence North to W. 12th Street, thence West to the Western boundary of corporate limits, thence South to a point that the corporate limits head East, thence East to Montana Road, thence South to a point that the corporate limits head back East, thence East following corporate limits turning Northeasterly to W. Park Avenue, thence East to the West line of S. Marion Street, thence South, West, South and East around a property within corporate limits to the East line of S. Marion Street, thence North to W. Park Avenue, thence East to a point that corporate limits head South, thence South, East and North following corporate limits to W. Park Avenue, thence East to S. Division Street, thence North to W. 3rd Street, thence East to Milwaukee Street, thence North to 6th Street, thence East to Harrison Street, thence North to the Point of Beginning.
