PARKING GARAGES
For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definition shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
GARAGE. Any barn, stable, building or other place within the city where automobiles, autocars or any similar self-propelled vehicles are kept or let for hire to any person, whether such vehicle so hired out or let with or without an operator for same, or where such vehicles are kept ready for use and where rent is paid to the keeper thereof for such keeping.

No person shall keep, conduct or operate a garage in the city without first obtaining a license so to do in the manner hereinafter provided.

(A) Any person desiring to keep, conduct or operate a garage in the city shall make application to the City Clerk. The application shall set forth the name of the applicant and if an individual or individuals, the place of the applicant’s residence and, if a corporation, the names of the officers and their places of residence.
(B) The application shall also contain the location of the place at which it is intended to keep the garage and the number of vehicles to be kept in such garage for the purpose of letting for hire.
(C) The City Clerk shall thereupon issue or cause to be issued, a license, upon payment by such applicant the rates hereinafter fixed.

For all garages where vehicles are kept ready for use and where rent is paid to the keeper thereof for such keeping or where vehicles as described in § 119.060 of this chapter hereof are repaired, the license fee shall be $15 per year.

All such licenses shall expire on April 30, following the date of issuance, and if issued for less than one year the amount of the license fee shall be reduced pro rata. If a garage keeper shall, at any time before the expiration of any license issued under the provisions of § 119.062 of this chapter, change his or her place of business, the keeper shall give notice of such fact to the City Clerk.
