§ 22.101 APPOINTMENTS
   (A)   All appointments of policemen or firemen, except chiefs and assistant chiefs, should be within the classifications set out in Chapter 23 and § 22.101, and the hourly rates shall be the amounts as specified for each classification.
   (B)   The mayor may, at his discretion, appoint all policemen and firemen from the same classification, or they may be appointed from any combination of classifications.

§ 22.102 RULES, REGULATIONS
   All persons employed by the city for the police department or fire department shall be hired subject to the provisions and conditions contained in any rules and regulations of the employees manual now in use or which might be adopted by council in the future for the respective departments.

§ 22.150 ESTABLISHED
   A police department is hereby established for the city.

§ 22.151 COMPOSITION
   The police department shall consist of a chief of police and such patrolmen, deputies, special police or extra police as may hereafter be approved by the city council.

§ 22.152 CONTROL GENERALLY
   All patrolmen, deputies, special police and extra police shall be subject to the orders of the chief of police and the mayor.

§ 22.153 APPOINTMENT OF CHIEF
   The chief of police for the city shall be appointed by the mayor.
