A police matron is responsible for assisting the police officer as required in the apprehension of females found in the act of violating any criminal law of the state or any provision of this code, or aiding and abetting any violation; and assisting in the handling of such females to the lockup facility or any other designated safe place, or assisting in taking such females to the proper court for trial, maintaining good discipline and order of the prisoner during the trial, and assisting in the execution of the court order as required. The police matron shall perform her duties and responsibilities in conformance with the provisions set forth in said administration, regulations and standard operating procedure.
