7-5-6: DEFINITIONS:
As used in this chapter, the following terms shall be held to mean:
BUILDING CONTRACTOR: Any person, firm or corporation who procures a building permit, but who must sublet all of the work to licensed specialty contractors and including anyone engaged in rehabilitation of property (rehabbers).
BUILDING DEPARTMENT OR BUILDING OFFICIAL: The Building Coordinator.
CORPORATION COUNSEL: The village attorney.
GENERAL CONTRACTOR: Any person, firm or corporation who has the entire or major portion of a contract, and who employs the basic trades directly to perform building work and sublets to licensed specialty contractors.
MUNICIPALITY: The village of Bedford Park, Illinois.
SPECIALTY CONTRACTOR: Any person, firm or corporation whose operations are the performance of building work requiring special skills and whose principal contracting business involves the use of a specialized building trade or craft. (Ord. 670, 7-7-1978; amd. Ord. 00-1063, 7-7-2000)
