A permit issued shall be construed to be a license to proceed with the work. It shall not be construed as authority to violate, cancel, alter or set aside any of the provisions of this Building Code or other applicable laws, ordinances, rules or regulations, nor shall such issuance of a permit prevent the Building Commissioner or Building Inspector from thereafter requiring a correction of serious errors in plans or in construction, or of violations of this Building Code or of other applicable laws, ordinances, rules or regulations. The Building Commissioner or Building Inspector shall not incur any personal liability or expense or impose any liability or expense upon the City by virtue of his prior approval of any plan or specification later determined by him or any other authority to be in contravention of this Building Code or other applicable laws, ordinances, rules or regulations.
