(a) The certificate of registration shall be valid for the calendar year in which issued and shall be renewed annually thereafter. A fee of seventy-five dollars ($75.00) shall be paid for registration by the contractor for a new registration and fifty dollars ($50.00) for each renewal, if renewal is made within forty five (45) days of termination. Said fees shall be effective for registration for the period beginning June 1, 2012.
(b) Whoever commences work in the City prior to obtaining a valid registration as required by this section shall be fined triple the amount of the registration fee for the first offense; three hundred dollars ($300.00) for the second offense and five hundred dollars ($500.00) for the third and subsequent offenses.
