Neither the Building Commissioner, Building Inspector nor any Assistant Inspector or any member of a Board of Appeals shall, during their term of office, be engaged in or directly or indirectly connected with the furnishing of labor, materials or appliances for the construction, alteration or maintenance of any building within the City of Bedford, or the preparation of construction drawings thereof, unless that person is the owner of the building; nor such officer or employee engaged in any work that conflicts with the duties or with the interests of the department or the City of Bedford. Further, no such officer or employee of the department or of a construction-related board or committee shall receive any type of remuneration, gift or product of value in return for services rendered within the City of Bedford which may be associated with their normal and ordinary duties or similar duties within the City of Bedford.
