(a) "Public place", as used in this Chapter, means any public street, public highway, public park or any property owned or held by the City within the boundaries of the City.
(b) "Tree", as used in this Chapter, means any tree.
(c) "Arboriculture" or "tree preservation", as used in this Chapter, means and includes the treating, spraying, pruning, maintaining and any other care or work intended for the strengthening of trees and the removal and prevention of tree pests, blights and diseases of any and all kinds.
(d) “Director of Public Service” or “Director”, as used in this chapter, means the Director of Public Service of the City or his designated employee or member of the Tree Board as hereinafter defined designated to act on behalf of the Director.
(e) “City”, as used in this chapter, means the City of Bedford.
(f) “Forestry” or “tree surgery” includes treating, spraying, pruning and other work intended for the strengthening of trees and removal and prevention of tree pests of all kinds and description.
(g) “Street trees”, as used in this chapter, means trees, shrubs, bushes and all other woody vegetation on land lying between property lines on either side of all streets and avenues within the City.
(h) “Park trees”, as used in this chapter, means trees, shrubs, bushes and all other woody vegetation in public parks and all areas owned by the City, or to which the public has free access as a park.
