For the license to be issued under the provisions of the chapter, each applicant shall pay to the City ten dollars ($ 10.00). A license issued hereunder shall be for a period of one year or less, which period shall end on December 31 of the calendar year in which such license is acquired, regardless of the date such license is issued.
