(a) “9-1-1 system” means a system through which individuals can request emergency service using the telephone number 9-1-1.
(b) No person shall knowingly use the telephone number of the 9-1-1 system to report an emergency if he knows that no emergency exists.
(c) No person shall negligently make a call of a non-emergency nature to the 9-1-1 system or allow an individual under their supervision to make a call of a non-emergency nature to the 9-1-1 system.
(d) Whoever violates section (b) is guilty of a misdemeanor of the fourth degree.
(e) Whoever violates section (c) is guilty of a minor misdemeanor.
