(a) For the purpose of aiding and assisting the regular police force of the City within the City limits, the City Manager may appoint one or more persons who shall be designated as Auxiliary Police.

(b) Such Auxiliary Police shall be under the direct supervision of the Chief of Police and shall obey any and all orders issued by him or any regular member of the Division of Police who may be on duty at the time. Before entering upon such duties as an Auxiliary Policeman, he shall give bond in the amount of one thousand dollars ($1,000) by a bonding company authorized by law in the State to the satisfaction of the Director of Law.
