The members of said Civil Service Commission shall serve for a term of four years. Council may, by ordinance, provide for the compensation of such members. Members of the existing Civil Service Commission shall continue in office as though appointed in accordance with the provisions of this Section and as their terms expire their places shall be filled by Council for a four year term. Any vacancy shall be filled by Council for the remainder of the unexpired term of such Commissioner. The Commission shall designate one of its members as Chairperson and the Director of Finance shall serve as secretary. The Director of Finance shall be able to vote on issues in the event of a tie among the members. (5-7-02; 11-2-10; 11-8-22)
