§ 12-3-10 UNATTENDED MOTOR VEHICLES.
   (A)   No person driving or in charge of a motor vehicle shall permit it to stand unattended without first stopping the engine, locking the ignition and removing the key or when standing upon any perceptible grade without effectively setting the brake thereon and turning the front wheels to the curb side of the roadway.
   (B)   Whenever any police officer shall find a motor vehicle standing unattended with the ignition key in the vehicle, the police officer is authorized to remove the key from the vehicle, secure the vehicle by locking the doors and closing the windows, and to deliver the key to the Apache Junction Police Department, along with an incident report setting forth where the vehicle was located, the plate and VIN number and other critical information.
