3-6-2: DIRECTORS AND EMPLOYEES:
   A.   Executive Director: An executive director of the parks and recreation department shall be appointed by the mayor by and with the consent of the city council. The executive director shall administer all of the property, programs, and activities conducted by the parks and recreation department of the city of Alton. The executive director shall be the chief administrative officer of the parks and recreation department. (Ord. 6721, 4-9-2003)
   B.   Maintenance Director 1 : (Rep. by Ord. 7411, 6-11-2014)
   C.   Recreation Director: A recreation director shall be appointed by the mayor by and with the consent of the city council. The recreation director shall supervise the recreational programs of the parks and recreation department and shall supervise all other employees assigned playground or recreation duties. The recreation director shall be the responsible party for the day to day administration of playground and recreation activities. The recreation director shall be qualified by education, knowledge and experience to organize and administer the recreational programs determined to be appropriate by the executive director. The executive director and recreation director shall be required to establish their residence within the city of Alton within ninety (90) days of their appointment to their position and to maintain their respective residence within the city of Alton thereafter.
