709.01 LICENSE REQUIRED.
   No person shall build, operate or maintain any place of public amusement or maintain or operate any device of amusement which is open to the public, either in part or in whole for pay, or for any other reward which may be demanded, required or received, either upon unenclosed land, enclosed land or in any building or other structure, prior to obtaining a license as provided in this chapter.

709.02 APPLICATION; ISSUANCE.
   A license for any of the purposes mentioned in Section 709.01 shall be granted by the Mayor when the person desiring such license applies therefor and answers truly under oath such questions as the Mayor may deem necessary to satisfy him as to the particular license required and such applicant further pays to the Mayor, for the use of the City, the sum of money specified in Section 709.04.

709.03 LICENSE YEAR; PRORATION OF FEE.
   The license year shall commence on January 1 of each year. No license which is rated only by the year shall be issued for a longer or shorter period than the unexpired portion of the license year. Unless otherwise provided, licenses shall be paid for in such proportions as such unexpired period bears to the whole year.

709.04 FEE.
   Each owner, proprietor or operator of a place of amusement or any device of amusement shall pay a license fee of five dollars ($5.00) per day for periods less than one month, ten dollars ($10.00) per month, thirty dollars ($30.00) for six months or fifty dollars ($50.00) for a period of one year.
