§ 34.03  DUTIES.
   Duties of police officers shall be as follows:
   (A)   To preserve public peace, prevent crime, detect and arrest offenders, suppress riots and unlawful gatherings which obstruct the free passage of public streets, sidewalks, parks and public places;
   (B)   To protect the rights of persons and property;
   (C)   To regulate the movement of pedestrians and vehicles in the streets, bridges, parks and public squares;
   (D)   To provide proper police attendance at the location of fires as they may occur in the town;
   (E)   To observe carefully and inspect all places of public amusement and all places of business having license to carry on the business and to suppress and restrain all unlawful and disorderly conduct or practices therein;
   (F)   To enforce penalties for the violation of laws and of provisions of this code and other ordinances of the town;
   (G)   To arrest all persons guilty of violating any law or any provisions of this code or other ordinances of the town;
   (H)   To prevent as far as possible any injury to town property, buildings, streets and sidewalks;
   (I)   To report to the Public Works Director any repairs needed by any public property;
   (J)   To serve all processes issued to them in accordance with the established procedures and recognized legal requirements in the state; and
   (K)   To perform any and all other duties that may be assigned to them by the Chief of Police.
