§ 31.63 MEMBERSHIP.
   (A)   (1)   The Advisory Board shall consist of seven members. In making the appointment, the Board should ensure that the diversity of the community is represented on the Advisory Board taking into consideration gender, age and racial characteristics of the town community, as well as making sure that appointees live within the corporate limits or extraterritorial jurisdiction of the town.
      (2)   Members shall be appointed for terms of three years with terms expiring on June 30. Appointments to the Board shall be staggered so that no more than three members’ terms will expire in the same year. They shall serve until the expiration of their terms or until their successors have been appointed. The members shall serve without compensation. Vacancies in the Commission shall be filled by appointment of the Board of Commissioners. There will be no term limits for those serving on the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.
   (B)   The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, at its first meeting, shall appoint from among its members a Chairperson and other officers as may be deemed proper for the conduct of its business and shall adopt rules and regulations to govern its procedures.

§ 31.64 DUTIES.
   It is the duty of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board to assist the Parks and Recreation Department by making recommendations for the most efficient and improved manner to provide quality recreation for the citizens of the town.

TREE BOARD
§ 31.80 ESTABLISHMENT.
   There is hereby established a Town Tree Board under the authority of the general statutes of the state.

§ 31.81 MEMBERSHIP; TERM OF OFFICE.
   (A)   Membership on the Tree Board shall consist of the membership appointed to the Planning Board.
   (B)   Members will serve the same term as that of the Planning Board members.

§ 31.82 COMPENSATION.
   Members of the Board shall serve without compensation.

§ 31.83 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.
   (A)   It shall be the responsibility of the Board to study, investigate, counsel, develop and administer a written plan for the care, preservation, pruning, planting, replanting, removal or disposition of trees and shrubs in parks, along streets and in other public areas. The plan will be presented annually to the Board of Commissioners and upon their acceptance and approval shall constitute the official comprehensive town tree plan.
   (B)   The Tree Board shall promote and supervise the establishment of a tree inventory for street and park trees. The inventory shall be updated with the results of ground inspections every three years.
   (C)   The Tree Board, when requested by the Board of Commissioners shall consider, investigate, make finding, report and recommend upon special matter or question coming within the scope of its work.
