155.04 URBAN FORESTRY MANAGEMENT PLAN.
   (a)   The Plan. The Director of Parks and Recreation or his/her designee, with advice and involvement from the Committee, shall formulate and implement the Urban Forestry Management Plan ("the Plan"). At a minimum, the Plan shall include:
      (1)   An Urban Forestry Inventory of existing public trees, which shall include, as appropriate, species, age, conditions, location, maintenance records, and any other information necessary or usable in the long-range planning or day-to-day planting and maintenance of the City's urban forest.
      (2)   A Planting Plan based on evaluation of characteristics as recorded in the Inventory, which shall include, as appropriate, identification of planting sites, prioritized plantings, and plans for reforestation.    
      (3)   A Maintenance Schedule for new and existing trees;    
      (4)   An Urban Forestry Plan, which shall include guidelines for species selection, care, preservation, pruning, planting, replanting, and removal or disposition of trees in parks, along streets, or on other places regulated by the Department of Parks and Recreation, as well as any other standards, criteria, or administrative procedures deemed necessary to carry out the purposes of the Plan.    
   (b)   Review of Plan. The Director of Parks and Recreation or his/her designee shall review the Plan on an annual basis and shall recommend revisions at least once every three (3) years to maintain best practices in accordance with American Society of Nursery Industry Standards.
   (c)   Written Report. The Director of Parks and Recreation or his/her designee shall provide City Council a written report on the implementation of, and any revisions to, the Plan on an annual basis. (Ord. 22-143. Passed 6-1-22.)
