No license shall be granted to any person who has, within five years preceding the application for license, been convicted of any offense, felony or misdemeanor which involved moral turpitude, violence or the use of a deadly weapon, or prostitution laws or ordinances. No license to engage in or conduct the business of a bowling alley, as defined in this chapter, shall be granted to any person not a citizen of the United States, and no license shall be granted to any corporation to engage in the business as defined in this chapter unless a majority of the stockholders of the corporation are citizens of the United States.
