1501.02 GENERAL POWERS AND DUTIES OF OFFICERS.
   It shall be the duty of the officers of the Bureau of Fire Prevention to assist in enforcing all laws and ordinances of the City and State in relation to fire prevention, including the following:
   (a)   The prevention of fires;
   (b)   The storage and use of explosives and flammables;
   (c)   The installation and maintenance of automatic and other fire alarm systems, and fire extinguishing equipment;
   (d)   The maintenance and regulation of fire escapes;
   (e)   The means and adequacy of exit in case of fire, from factories, schools, hotels, lodging houses, asylums, hospitals, churches, halls, theaters, amphitheaters and all other places in which numbers of persons work, live or congregate, from time to time, for any purpose;
   (f)   The investigation of the cause, origin and circumstances of fires.
   The members of the Bureau shall have such other powers and perform such other duties, including those set forth in this Fire Prevention Code, as may be conferred and imposed from time to time by law. (1967 Code §91.04)
