932.01 PURPOSE AND POLICY.
In order to further and promote the policy and spirit of the federal and state environmental law statutes, including, but not limited to, Federal Water Pollution Act as amended by the Clean Water Act of 1977, 33 U.S.C. A 1251, et seq., Resource Conservation and Recovery Act of 1977, 42 U.S.C.A. 6901, et seq., and the Safe Drinking Water Act, 42 U.S.C.A. 300F, et seq., the City hereby amends this chapter. Chapter 932, Sewage Discharge and Industrial Pretreatment Regulations.
These Regulations are expressly directed to protect the publicly owned treatment works (POTWs) of the City and the environment from the adverse impacts which occur when unusually strong conventional and/or toxic wastes are discharged into a sewage system. These objectives are to be promoted herein, through the specific discharge prohibitions and the pretreatment requirements for all users of the POTW that discharge toxic wastes and/or unusually strong conventional wastes.
