921.01 REMOVAL OF TREES IMPEDING TRAVEL, DESTROYING SIDEWALKS.
Any tree growing within the limits of any public street, sidewalk or other public place in the City which obstructs or impedes travel; which stops, restricts or retards the flow of sewage and water; which heaves up and destroys sidewalks, curbing or pavement in any public thoroughfare; which interferes with power or communication lines serving the signal systems of the Police and Fire Departments of the City; or which impedes or restricts visibility of traffic signs or traffic control signals, is hereby declared a nuisance. Whenever in the judgment of the Commissioner of Engineering, the Park and Recreation Superintendent, the Chief of Police or the Chief of the Fire Department, any tree should, for any of the reasons hereinbefore stated, be removed, the Commissioner of Engineering, the Park and Recreation Superintendent, the Chief of Police or the Chief of the Fire Department shall forthwith cut down and remove such tree.
