(a) The community members of the Juvenile Justice Coordinating Council shall be appointed by the Board of Supervisors for a term of four ( 4) years, unless earlier removed by the Board of Supervisors in its sole discretion. Membership shall be effective upon appointment by the Board of Supervisors. However, all terms shall be deemed to have commenced on February 1 following the initial appointment, and thereafter all terms shall be aligned to begin on February 1 and to end on January 31. The Juvenile Justice Coordinating Council may make recommendations to the Board of qualified persons to serve in the community member positions described in the preceding sections of this Article.
(b) The representatives from the district attorney's office, the public defender's office, the sheriff’s department, the board of supervisors, the department of social services and the department of mental health, and the Superior Court, shall be selected by and serve at the pleasure of their offices.
(c) The representative from a community-based drug and alcohol program shall be selected by and serve at the pleasure of the chair of the Juvenile Justice Coordinating Council.
(d) The representative from a city police department shall be selected by and serve at the pleasure of the Yolo County Law Enforcement Agency Coordinating Council.
(e) The representative of the county office of education or a school district shall be selected by and serve at the pleasure of the Yolo County Office of Education.
(f) Representatives from nonprofit community-based organizations providing services to minors shall be selected by and serve at the pleasure of the chair of the Juvenile Justice Coordinating Council.
The Board of Supervisors shall be informed of the community-based organizations participating on the Juvenile Justice Coordinating Council, as required by Welfare and Institutions Code section 749.22.
