5-1-1: POLICE CHIEF 1 :
The chief of police shall:
   A.   Attend Public Assemblages: When practicable, be present at all public assemblages;
   B.   Investigate Violations: Diligently investigate all alleged violations of city ordinances or of the provisions of the city charter of a police nature;
   C.   Visit Locations Where Liquors Are Sold: Visit all gaming houses, saloons, dance halls or other places where liquors are sold, to see they are conducted in an orderly manner and in compliance with the city ordinances, and that no person be allowed to remain therein prohibited by ordinance. (1973 Code § 2.20.010)

5-1-2: POWER TO ARREST; ACCESS TO COUNTY JAIL:
All police officers are authorized to make arrests and serve other process, and shall have access to the county jail. (1973 Code § 2.20.020; amd. 2001 Code)
5-1-3: ARREST FOR OFFENSES COMMITTED IN PRESENCE OF OFFICER:
Every police officer shall arrest all offenders for violations or breaches of the city ordinances, when such offenses are committed in the presence of such officers, and take the arrested person without unreasonable delay before the police judge. (1973 Code § 2.20.030)
