(a) Scheduled Special Collection. Special collection will be made for customers of the City's solid waste collection service in need of removal of bulky waste beyond that provided as a part of the weekly solid waste collection. Such customers shall schedule pickup with the Accounts Receivable & Billing Division and shall pay a fee per item as set forth in the City's Fee Schedule, Appendix A
to the City Government Code, which may be added to the customer's utility bill. All items should be prepared and set at the curb in an appropriate manner. Standards for the appropriate preparation of items shall be set forth in the Sanitation Rules and Regulations. If items are set at the curb and are not appropriately prepared in accordance with the Sanitation Rules and Regulations, the items may be collected but the customer may be charged the higher, unscheduled special collection fee per item.
(b) Unscheduled Special Collection. Bulk items left at the curb or street in violation of the prohibition contained in Section 1025.09(a)(1) or that are not appropriately prepared for collection in accordance with the Sanitation Rules and Regulations may be removed by the City and shall be deemed an unscheduled special collection. The customer shall pay a fee per item as set forth in the City's Fee Schedule, Appendix A
to the City Government Code, which may be added to the customer's utility bill.
