§ 153.002 ASSAULTING, BATTERING, WOUNDING, RESISTING, OBSTRUCTING, OPPOSING OR ENDANGERING A PERSON PERFORMING HIS OR HER DUTIES.
   (A)   An individual who assaults, batters, wounds, resists, obstructs, opposes or endangers a person who the individual knows or has reason to know is performing his or her duties is guilty as punishable by § 153.999 of this chapter.
   (B)   This section does not prohibit an individual from being charged with, convicted of or punished for any other violation of law that is committed by that individual while violating this section.
   (C)   A term of imprisonment imposed for a violation of this section may run consecutively to any term of imprisonment imposed for another violation arising from the same transaction.
   (D)   For the purpose of this section, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
      OBSTRUCT. Includes the use or threatened use of physical interference or force or a knowing failure to comply with a lawful command.
      PERSON. Any of the following:
         (a)   A city police officer;
         (b)   A city firefighter;
         (c)   A city enforcement officer, inspector or official charged with enforcing city or state codes;
         (d)   Judge, magistrate, probation officer, prosecutor, city attorney, court employee, court officer, other officer or duly authorized person serving or attempting to serve or execute any process, rule or order made or issued by lawful authority or otherwise acting in the performance of his or her duties;
         (e)   Any authorized person of the city enforcing tax liens, tax warrants and jeopardy assessments and all actions associated therewith; and
         (f)   Any authorized persons of the city who is conducting property assessments, evaluations or field work.
