§ 94.007 RODENT-PROOFING.
   (A)   This section is to provide for the eradication of vermin infestation on all existing and new buildings and structures including all accessory buildings and structures.
   (B)   The following requirements shall be met.
      (1)   Foundation wall openings shall be appropriately covered with an approved rat- proofing material such as metal plates, grills, grates or mesh of 0.035-inch minimum thickness, with openings not exceeding one-fourth inch.
      (2)   Foundation and exterior wall sealing shall be provided on all annular spaces around pipes, electric cables, conduits or other openings in the walls by closing such openings with cement mortar, concrete masonry or non-corrosive metal.
      (3)   Doors on which metal protection has been applied shall be hinged so as to be free swinging. The maximum clearance between any closed door, door jambs and sills shall not be greater than three-eighths inch.
      (4)   All windows and other openings in exterior walls within two feet above the existing ground shall be covered with screens.
      (5)   All new and existing accessory structures, 200 square feet or less, not provided with a continuous foundation, shall be provided with either a minimum four-inch wide by 24-inch deep concrete ratwall or grade floor of concrete a minimum of four inches thick. All new and existing accessory structures 201 to 400 square feet and under ten feet in height to the midpoint of the roof shall be required to have a minimum four-inch wide by 24-inch deep concrete ratwall. All new accessory structures 201 to 400 square feet in area with a roof height greater than ten feet to the midpoint of the roof shall require a minimum six-inch wide by 42-inch deep concrete foundation. All existing accessory structures 201 to 400 square feet in area with a roof height greater than ten feet to the midpoint of the roof shall require a minimum four-inch wide by 24-inch deep concrete ratwall. All new accessory structures 401 square feet or greater shall require a minimum six-inch wide by 42-inch deep concrete foundation. All existing accessory structures 401 square feet or greater shall require a minimum four-inch wide by 24-inch deep concrete ratwall. Regardless of size, all new brick or block accessory structures are required to have a minimum eight-inch wide by 42-inch deep foundation. All residential dwellings, commercial or industrial buildings, regardless of the size, shall be provided with a foundation as required for structural support. Where a pier foundation system is utilized and a continuous 42-inch deep foundation system is not provided, a minimum four-inch wide by 24-inch deep concrete ratwall shall be constructed between the pier foundations for all new and existing accessory structures.
