§ 93.99 PENALTY.
   (A)   Any person who violates any provision of this chapter or a declaration enacted or declared under the authority of this chapter is guilty of a Class 2 misdemeanor in accordance G.S. § 14-288.20A.
   (B)   Any person or entity who violates any provision of this chapter or a declaration enacted or declared under the authority of this chapter shall be subject to a civil penalty in the amount of $500.00, which sum may be recovered by the town in a civil action in the nature of debt if the offender does not pay the charge within 30 days after having been cited for a violation. Multiple violations shall subject the violator to an additional $500.00 civil penalty for each violation.
   (C)   The town may seek to enforce the provisions of this chapter through any appropriate equitable action.
   (D)   The town may seek to enforce this chapter by using any one or any combination of the foregoing remedies.
