(A) No firearms or dangerous weapons of any kind, as defined by state law, may be possessed contrary to G.S. § 14-277.2.
(B) Division (A) does not apply to the following persons while acting lawfully and within the scope of their duties and authority:
(1) Law enforcement officers;
(2) Officers and soldiers of the armed forces, and National Guard while acting lawfully and within the scope of their duties and authority;
(3) Students of military science in an accredited program acting in a ceremonial capacity in connection with the accredited program; and
(4) Park rangers, animal control officers.
