§ 98.99 PENALTY.
   (A)   It shall be unlawful for any person to:
      (1)   Carry on a special event without a required permit or registration receipt.
      (2)   Fail to terminate a special event upon revocation of a permit;
      (3)   Conduct a special event in violation of the terms and conditions of a permit issued for such event; or
      (4)   Undertake or engage in activity prohibited by this chapter.
   (B)   Any violation of the provisions of this chapter shall subject the offender to a civil penalty of $500 for the first offense and $1,000 for a second and subsequent offenses. If a person fails to pay the civil penalties set forth herein within 20 days after being cited for a violation, the town may seek to recover the penalty by filing a civil action in the nature of debt.
   (C)   Each day’s continuing violation shall be a separate and distinct offense.
   (D)   The town may seek to enforce the provisions of this chapter through any appropriate equitable remedy issued from a court of competent jurisdiction.
   (E)   The town may seek to enforce this chapter by using any one or more combinations of the foregoing remedies.
   (F)   Any person who is found in violation of this chapter shall be guilty of a misdemeanor as provided in G.S. § 14-4 and shall be fined not more than $500.
