Any person violating section 11-8-2 of this chapter shall be fined one hundred dollars ($100.00) for each offense. Failure to pay the original fine within fourteen (14) days of the issuance of the notice of final determination shall result in an additional one hundred dollar ($100.00) late payment fine. A penalty shall not apply if the driver of the motor vehicle received a uniform traffic citation from a police officer at the time of the violation. The Village may not charge court costs or hearing fees to persons found liable after exercising their right to appear and contest the violation at an administrative hearing. The Village may retain attorneys and private collection agents for the purpose of collecting any default in payment of any fine or penalty or installment of that fine or penalty. Any fees or costs incurred by the Village with respect to attorneys or private collection agents retained by the Village under this section shall be charged to the offender. (Ord. 2018-05, 6-5-2018)
