The president, with the consent of the village board, may appoint a police matron, who shall perform such duties as may be assigned to her by the chief of police or by the president. In the absence of such appointment, female officers shall perform such duties as would ordinarily devolve upon a police matron. (1970 Code §32.12; amd. 1995 Code; Ord. 99-03, 3-2-1999)
