No peddler, canvasser, or solicitor shall knock at the door or ring the bell of any private home, apartment or apartment building in the Village where there is displayed at the entrance a notice reading “No Soliciting” or which otherwise clearly purports to prohibit persons from doing so, unless the person is or has been invited upon such premises by the owner, lessee or occupant thereof.

No peddlers, solicitor or canvasser shall vex, annoy or harass any person by importuning such person to purchase or to look at his goods or wares; nor shall any peddler, solicitor or canvasser enter any private house or residence without being invited to come in.

Any license issued hereunder may be revoked at any time should the person to whom it is issued by guilty of violating any State law or any provisions of this chapter or of any fraud, misrepresentation or unlawful act in connection with his business or otherwise, or is found to be a person not fit to be engaged in such business.

(a) Whoever violates or fails to comply with any of these provisions is guilty of a minor misdemeanor for each offense. A separate offense shall be deemed committed each day during or on which a violation or noncompliance occurs or continues.
(b) Each sale or attempted sale made by any person in violation of any of the provisions of this chapter shall be deemed a distinct and separate offense.
